Choosing Happiness

With today being 20 March, the International Day of Happiness, I wanted to share some tips and tricks that are super powerful and help you to empower yourself, and choose happiness daily.

But first, I want to ask you, where are you now in life?

  • Are you being held back by dis-empowering beliefs, thoughts and feelings?

  • What have you done about them?

  • Do you know when you are in this dis-empowering state of mind?

Where your focus goes, energy flows… so, are you focusing your thoughts with a positive or negative mindset?

When things aren’t working, are you giving yourself permission to give up?

Are you telling yourself “I’m not good enough”, “I don’t have the skills”, “I’m not smart enough”? Be careful not to allow negative thoughts to create your reality!

Maybe you have heard Steve Jobs speak his truth… “When we grow up, we get told the world is the way it is, and we must live our life inside the world… everything around you that you call life, was made up by people that were no smarter than you”.

Those are powerful words. WHY? Because once we embrace that we can change and build our own world, that we have the resources within ourselves, the keys to unlock our potential, it can be the beginning of the most powerful transition we will ever experience.

Believing in your creative power starts with asking yourself to embrace being at cause.

Being at cause means being responsible and shifting your beliefs. This will allow you to make the changes you want in your mindset and in your body’s physiology.

When we have dis-empowering beliefs, we allow our frontal cortex in the brain to be inactive. This means that we may suffer from depression, or impulsive behavior.

When we are at Cause, we let go of unpleasant emotions, we boost our immune system, enable faster healing and extend our life by 19%. Now, who wouldn’t want that?

Believing that you can control your health and healing makes it happen. If this is an area of interest to you, I recommend that you check out the “Heal documentary” on Netflix.

A person who is self-empowered is:

  • Self-aware and able to determine their values, strengths, weaknesses, and self-imposed limitations, and work towards empowering them.

  • Is able to create positive representations and follow their inner voice to take control of their life and move in a direction that is passionate and purposeful for them.

  • Able to make positive choices in their life for the highest good of all involved.

You can do this for yourself – first find evidence to disclaim your dis-empowering beliefs, whatever they are.

Ask yourself the following questions about that dis-empowering belief, for example: “I'm not good enough/worthy enough”.

  1. What is it?

  2. What is it not?

  3. How do I know?

  4. What is it that I need to know to know this? OR What is it that I am pretending not to know to know this?

Write down the evidence you gather to disclaim that emotion or belief. Note any learnings and use affirmations to transform those negative, unconscious thought patterns.

Other things you can do include:

· Keeping a gratitude journal, notice the what you are grateful for.

· Visualise yourself at your full potential, achieving what you desire, manifesting the change as you want it.

· Breathe…. Deeply.

If you want support, an NLP coach can help you to bring about self-empowerment by helping to uncover and address your underlying beliefs and emotions that are not serving you well. Timeline Therapy is a powerful and gentle therapeutic process that can remove those blocks that conflict with your goals and prevent you from moving towards them.

Remember: A breakdown always comes before a breakthrough.

Are you ready to choose happiness and empowerment?

If you change the way you look at things, the things we look at change. #makeithappy #tenbillionhappy
